Toyota Corolla: sexy – Salon Caradisiac Electric / Hybrid 2021

Present at our previous show, the Toyota Corolla is a regular on our site. After having carried the name of Auris for two generations in Europe, the Japanese compact returned in 2019 to its original name. Beyond its lines that we will discuss later, this Corolla is also characterized by the fact that it is one of the few compact sedans only available in hybrid with, however, two power levels (122 and 180 hp). Engines that are also found on other models of the brand such as the C-HR. Like many models of the brand, this Corolla has an electric unit coupled to a gasoline engine which allows it to circulate for 2 or 3 kilometers entirely electric, but above all to lower consumption thanks to the joint work of the two energies.

Beyond this technology, this twelfth generation is also distinguished by curvaceous lines highlighting the dynamism in the image of the face or the very slender profile.

Practicalities are not the strengths of the Corolla, which suffers from a small cargo volume and rear cabin space is reduced.

Attractive in many ways, the Corolla suffers from a few flaws, however. So despite a length of 4.36 m which places it in the good average of the category, its practical aspects are limited whether it is the unwelcoming rear seats or the small volume of the trunk with only 361 liters in 122 hp and even 313 liters in 180 hp.

Caradisiac’s reliability notice

Toyota already has one of the most established reliability reputations on the market. In addition, hybrid models of all brands are among the most reliable in general. Mix it all up, and you’ll guess the latest Corolla is off to a very good start in this regard, although hindsight is weak at the moment. In any case, the Prius which adopts the same engine does not know of recurring problem, and the old Auris was a gifted student too. So, little risk.

Thanks
